People in general are fearful by instinct, any type of brainwashing will penetrate, and they will immediately clam up. Violence scares people and the streets are somewhat more violent today no more than in the 20's 30's-etc., just that we have more population to deal with that's all. But no one wants to get involved they are selfish as well. They may have guilty consciences for they may have some deep dark secret they are afraid of being revealed so they hang around in cliques and make themselves unavailable to the so-called outsiders, like the mormons, or the masons? There are many things to what you say and all and all the news media thrives on fear they are brainwashing the dosile, (sheep), to the position you see today. There is no justice any more no one listens to anyone they read from books, go by the codes, like Doctors who won't treat patients with instinct for fear of being sued. Lawyers who sell you out in the back room, crooked judges, Sheriff's as well. So how can we not be afraid or should I say anti-social behavior is more appropriate.

i think it's because the idea of protecting oneself has been criminalized. the feeling of being a sitting duck is pretty unnerving. i personally never leave my house unarmed, so i don't fear too much. i also go over in my head what i would do in a number of circumstances, so that if ever find myself faced with an attacker or some other thing, i already have a plan of action. i stay aware of my surroundings, too. so like i said, i don't have much to fear.

For some reason or another, it seems like there are more 'evil' people in the world today. People are afraid of being robbed, having their identity stolen, being murdered... I think the media is mostly to blame. They put all this stuff out there and everyone begins to worry that it could be them, so they begin to look at others with a suspicious eye. Trust hardly exists.

Maybe coz some people find it hard to trust others. I know many people who are very shy at first, but when u get to know them, and they get to know u, they become more open, and trust others. This is my opinion though, dont know how other people feel about that.

Because you cannot trust anybody. You don't know what he/she wants from you. Maybe he/she wants to abuse you or kill you or whatever..... Don't trust anybody, you will be hurt.
