I know from experience that it is a very Old Version 4.7 messenger that comes with the windows package and Cannot be deleted from your computer. The only thing you can do is find it on your program files. (The icon will look different than the new MSN Messenger Live.) Open the old version 4.7 messenger (check the help tab to be sure it is the 4.7 version) and
go to
tools
options
General tab.
UNcheck all the boxes there
Click Apply and OK.
If you cannot find it in program files then you will need to find it in the 'C' Windows folder and follow above instructions.
Then I deleted the icon from program files so it is Not opened accidently. It does Not delete it from computer unfortunately but it is the best we can do for now.

I suspect you are being signed in automatically to WINDOWS messenger, part of windows.

To solve this, go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Add/Remove Windows Components and uncheck the box for Windows Messenger. Click Next and this should uninstall that component of Windows and solve your problem.

You could also block that person from seeing you in MSN Messenger.

there are two ways of being signed in, go to 'tools' at the top left, select windows messenger and see how you get on from there.
