Hi there...have you tried resetting the Power Managment Unit (PMU)? http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=95037

How do you zap the PRAM?

Boot the computer and immediately hold down the following key combinations:
- simultaneously hold down: COMMAND-OPTION-P-R ...The computer will re-boot and you will hear a chime.
- Release the keys and allow the computer to boot normally.
- The PRAM has now been zapped.

There is a switch on the motherboard of some G4s that sometimes needs to be pushed so the computer can start up. I don't know precisely where it is on the board, but I know that it works.

It sounds like you have a bad power supply, get your G4 looked at. If it is still under warranty, get it repaired.

Try re-seating the ram modules in their slots, make sure cables to hard drive are seated in the plugs. check monitor connections, un-hook all peripherals connected to usb and firewire ports, try to boot from software install cd. After you have tried all of that get back to us.
