I'm replacing all my vinyl collection by building up an i-tunes library. Some of the the rarer tracks are not available from the i-tunes store though, so a friend suggested Limewire file sharing. I've installed Limewire 4.12.6, I've located some tracks and downloaded them successfully. I can play them in Limewire, but I can't transfer them accross to my i-tunes library to join the rest of my collection. Limewires help FAQ's says to select the file in the Limewire library that I want to transfer by clicking it. After releasing the mouse button, click and drag the file into i-tunes. I've tried this but the files will not click and drag. Can anyone help??

I would go to the folder you downloaded the file into and then double click the file. It will work. Finding the folder is the hardest part. I would go into library in Limewire to find out. Or options to find out which folder it is saving to.

Here's an example of how I do it.....from scratch.

Download the song you want from LimeWire

Open LimeWire Library and click the 'Explore' button (this will open up a folder showing all your LimeWire downloads)

Open iTunes and create a playlist if needed

Drag the file you want from the 'Explore' folder into iTunes (I always put them into a designated playlist)

Bingo....there's your LimeWire song on your iTunes. You may want to right click the file when it's iTunes and 'Convert to AAC' just in case it doesn't let you play the song through your iPod

I've done it with a fair few songs and never had any problems

Hope this helps....any probs feel free to e-mail me

when i do it...i can right click and request that it plays in itunes
but an easier way is this:
all limewire files are being saved into a file on your computer...if you know that file than just go there
select all (control A)
and then right click and play in itunes or open with itunes..

if you dont know what file it is
go to limewire options
first tools at the top
then options

it should open up and your first category should be saving..
there it tells you where your files are being saved to.
then find the file and go to it and do the steps that i mentioned above..
you can also drag the files from that file to itunes if that is easy for you.

In iTunes, click record, then upload record to library. Then stumble on the record you downloaded. yet! do not use Limewire it sucks! Use Vuze, this is nonetheless unfastened and has greater high quality songs and likewise does video, and has speedier get carry of circumstances! this is super!
