I used to go to the saturday matinee in Australia for one shilling and 3 pence which was the same as 12 cents australian. This would have been about the same as 8 or 9 cents US.

We paid 10 cents for the movie and had 15 cents for popcorn and pop...Those were the days......Yuke

My mother said that it was .25 and that included a drink and popcorn, plus you could stay and see the show as much as you wanted.

twenty five cents and candy bars were five cents and popcorn was ten cents and back then you couldn"t buy soda in the theather you went and drank out of the water fountain..
