Our cows drink on average 30 gallons of water a day. We suckle the calves on the cow for a week or so and then they drink milk for several more weeks before they go onto water and proper food to be reared.

Water, but you do get the occasional full grown cow that will decide to revert to drinking milk from another cow, which as you can imagine is a bit of a nuisance, because it deprives the calf of cow that is been suckled of its feed. Sometimes you might see a cow that has been fitted with a nose clip to prevent it doing so, but still enabling it to graze or eat hay or meal.

Water as it is the only thing generally available to them. But you could try offering one a gin and tonic, just to see what it says.
