I don't have a problem with them as long as these people aren't like...my professors or people at work. Unfortunately, where I come from most aren't professional like they are in the "mentally advanced" countries as I call them.
What do you say to them so they leave you alone?

I really don't know what to say to help you except that nosy people are really being rude in the worst possible way. Maybe a little dose of their own medicine would be in order. For example "i am sorry but i really don't have time for-nor am i interested in answering your nosy questions. Go bother someone else please." Or if that is a little too direct for you then-"i realize that you are trying to keep me informed and stay informed yourself. Do you ever listen to the news-or read the news paper? This is a nice way to stay informed." I am pissed off right now at nosy people.

Carry on a conversation with them until they pop one of those nosy questions, then just don't give any answer, who says you have to answer, don't give any expression or anything else. Why do people think they owe people something who ask them nosy questions?

Ask them, "Why do you want to know?" or just tell them if I wanted you to know I would tell you. How about buzz off! or it's non of your business! Sometimes you just can't be kind. Stupid people just don't know when to back off. Yes they may call you call you arrogant (if they know what the word means) behind your back but who cares? If it's none of their business then it's just that. Sounds like you need to find some intelligent lifeforms to hang around.

Please stop asking questions.....that I may not answer. I prefer not to answer or talk at this time.
You have a right to privacy............everyone from every walk of life has this problem at times....and we have a right to just say,
I prefer not to ...answer...talk at this time....or you could say ...that's a lot to think about...I'll think about it some other time....and walk away...........yes ...walk away....and don't smile back......walk!
You are being polite...but sometimes others need you to be more direct about your wishes!

You could say "I'd rather not talk about it," or "I try not to mix my personal life with work and school."
