If you need a phone, then Treo, no question. The new Treo 680 sounds quite nice if you don't need all a the 'bells and whistles' found on the Treo 700p and it's going to be cheaper too.

If you don't need a phone, then I would suggest the Palm Tungsten E2. I'm not sure of the price in other countries, but you can buy the E2 for around $180 - $200 in the USA. It doesn't have a phone or a camera, but it does all the other PDA stuff. It's a well built and reasonably versatile basic PDA that is a TRUE hand held computer.

I have both a windows pda and a palm the windows pda battery ran flat and lost all my data (luckly had backed up on memory card) however when the palm dies it loses nothing. so if all you need is an organiser then the palm is the best bet. Look at the Palm Z22 you can get it Tescos for around £45 and will do most of things you need.
If you do want the windows based pda make sure it has battery backup like the dell axim

in case you prefer a telephone, then Treo, no question. the hot Treo 680 sounds somewhat advantageous in case you do no longer choose all a the 'bells and whistles' got here upon on the Treo 700p and it is going to likely be extra value-effective too. in case you do no longer prefer a telephone, then i might recommend the Palm Tungsten E2. i'm unsure of the cost in different countries, yet you ought to purchase the E2 for around $a hundred and eighty - $2 hundred in the u . s . a .. It would not have a telephone or a digicam, inspite of the undeniable fact that it does all the different PDA stuff. this is a nicely equipped and somewhat versatile common PDA this is a genuine handheld laptop.

Any of the Palm Treo series. They are the best all-around PDA devices on the market. Treo 650, 680, 700w, 700wx, 700p, and 750v have the best form factor and selection of software. My Treo 650 is virtually a laptop replacement. I carry my laptop to work, but find the Treo more and more useful.

I have a Toshiba e310 Pocket PC. I bought it from a guy that my dad works with for only $50 used when it was normally like $300. I suggest going to eBay and searching for that model, and they sell them for really cheap. The only complaint I have with it is that is doesn't have built in Wifi. A newer one like one in the e700 series does, I think. Pocket PCs are better than palms because some don't have expandable memory slots and you can't do as much on most.

I would recommend the HP Ipaq series, with Pocket PC (which means you can sync with outlook address books, contacts and emails. I have the older HP Ipaq 2210, which is more than enough, but think that a newer Wi-fi version would be better, as you would be able to connect at the various hotspots that appear around city cafes nowadays..
