Other then to get on our nerves....... Because they are hungry or need a diaper cahnge. They may be feeling bad. They can't talk so they cry

That is their way of communication... They don't know how to speak the language of the people who surround them, so they do what comes naturally when they bring air into their vocal cords...
There are many reasons of why an infant cries... be it to get a diaper changed, to get picked up and held, to get food, go somewhere else, show emotion, whatever...

In an infants under developed state, a cry; crying is the only mechanism to get attention. Attention then provides a need met, or not.

It's a way to communicate when they feel hungry, cold/hot, tired, fatigue, bored, in pain, and wants confort thats when they cry....

When a baby cries really loud it may have a sharp pain. And when you pick the baby up and it stops crying it means they just wanted held or to be close to you (they feel safe and warm) you need to pay close attention to their cries or you won't tell what they want!!!

An infant cries because he or she is trying to comunicate to us how they feel.
Reasons for infant crying could be
1. hungry
2.dirty diaper
3.gas in the belly
4.feeling sick
5.lonely
6.wants to be held

B/C it is their way of communication. They may be sleepy, hungry, or just want some attention.
