You definitely can find free ebooks - it's a great way to decide whether or not you like reading on a smaller device, too, such as a Pocket PC.

Here's some resources:

Free eBooks for what? What topic/subject?

Your first ebook is free once you Join AudibleListener® , then it's just $9.95 a year - http://www.audible.com/adbl/entry/offers/productPromo2.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=Yes&pskw=true

Of course at http://www.free-ebooks.net/, they "SAY" you can get them for free once you register, but I don't know if there is a catch.

Others that advertise free ebooks include those listed below:

http://www.fictionwise.com/ebooks/freebooks.htm
http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_Page
http://www.ebooks3.com/
http://www.ebookdirectory.com/

Just watch out for all the pop-ups!!

If you're looking for free eBooks on Linux or computers, you can find them on http://www.linux-books.us . Other topics can be found in the top right hand corner.

As for other books, I dunno.
