If so, what could the law do about it? Would they have the option to tail him or would they be forced to simply wait for him to strike again?

Sorry, I didn't mean for this to go into the "marriage and divorce" category.

To tell you the truth, a serial killer would be held without bond. At least I'm pretty sure that is the case. The law doesn't want a serial killer to have someone post bond for himl And why would a stranger post this bond if there was one? Too unreal. Are you writing a book? Better do some more research. I suppose if this was the case somehow, the law would be able to keep an eye on him and would without a doubt. He would be on probation I would think, and thus watched within an inch of his life.

If there is a bond and someone paid it, they must free him.

Usually, if there is a dangerous person out there, they will not give any bond amount so that he cannot be freed at all.
Once the bond is paid, you don't wait for him to strike again. The police is still working on trying to prove that the suspect is indeed the killer they think he is. Once they have enough proof to show a judge they can arrest him again, and this time with no bond.

yes he would have to be released. it would cost 1 million for him to bond out. the bondsman would keep close tabs on him for that large of a bond, but besides the bonding company, the authorities will not track him. are you in danger?
