I am currently 8 months pregnant and enrolled in college. My semester ends middle of December and I am due first week of january so I will be taking off Spring semester (cause of my planned csection and healing, i just wont be able to do it in a couple weeks and then turn around and go back to school later that month) and also it gives me a good amount of time to bond with my lil bundle of joy and go back in the fall semester (August).
Lots of pregnant women go to school still, just be sure to plan some occasional missed classes here and there (morning sickness , feeling tired, just dont feel like moving) its all typical...Good Luck and congrats on being a mother to be!

As a mother with a 2 week old son i would encourage you to definitely take the fall semester off and go back in the spring! Going to school and having a newborn baby will make you crazy! Trust me, you will not have any time to study!! And you're going to need all the energy you can muster for the first few weeks of your child's life.
As far as going to school while you're pregnant, i don't see anything wrong with it at all. Many women work all throughout their pregnancies. Just keep in mind that you most likely won't have as much energy as before you got pregnant. I had terrible morning sickness (i was vomiting on average once or twice a day) and i still worked for a short time while i was pregnant. It can be done, it's just really a personal choice. If you think you can do it, go for it!
Congrats and much luck to you!

How can you go wrong with getting your education,if anything you are giving you and your new baby a great start.I was pregnant when i started college and i allowed the embarrassment and stress of it all deprive me and my son from what could of been the best future for us both.Needless to say i never finished college and my son is now four. Now i sit around saying right now i would've had my bachelor's and now i would've had my master's.My mother always told me anything worth having is worth fighting for.School is going to be the same pregnant or not and you seem like a smart and prepared girl so then you already know that there are going to be extra steps to take once the bay is here, but while you're expecting it's just set yourself a strict regimen and live by it.Don't fall at the waist side with insecurities and doubt, stand strong and tall because it's not just you anymore. No breaks! It makes it hard to restart just start looking into day cares baby sitter's your school's policy on maternity leaves and go at it full force.Good Luck!

I applaud you for going back to school!!! I have a 5 month old and I am also planning a second pregnancy to hopefully be due just three months before I go back to school myself. I think that it depends on many factors. I have learned as a first time mom, that it is imortant to have a good partner or network of peole who will support you mentally and emotionally, as being pregnant and having a baby is very stressfull and emotionally draining- Yet, the best thing I ever did!! :)
Will you be working as well? Will you have reliable childcare once the baby is born? How do the school breaks look this coming year? Do you have high risk pregnancies in your family?
I was put into a high risk catagory at just 4 months, and was put on strict bed-rest (ie, cant do ANYTHING!!!!) for the remainder of my pregnancy.
So, do your best to have "all your bases covered" so to speak.
You alone know what you are capable of. DO what you think is best for you and your baby!!!
Congrats!!!

Well, I'm pregnant and I've been taking some time away from college to get settled. The first two weeks of the pregnancy I was in college. I had to visit the health center daily. It was difficult, but then I took some time away. This was my last year of college and I'm 22. I agree with your idea about picking it up in the spring. I can say that from experience. Congrats and good luck to you!

I got pregnant twice in college. With my 1st daughter, I had her during finals week of the fall semester. My teachers did let me take my finals a little later. And I did have to ditch a couple of my spring classes after I had her coz she was my second child and I couldn't pass all my classes and mother 2 kids and work and all that. I was also pretty pregnant with my second daughter when I graduated college. Its nuts, but achievable. Just don't overpile your classes. I would absolutely at least knock your schedual right after you have baby down to part time, or just barely full time. And just so ya know 2, I was hardly a youngen when I went to college. lol

There is no problem going to school being pregnant. I would definetly take off next Fall to be with the baby, then maybe going back in Spring. And take Summer courses so you can get ahead before you get behind. Congrats.

I am currently 6 months pregnant and in college. I am doing fine. I do plan to take a break after this semester and not go back until the fall. (my baby is due in March.)
The best advice I can give you is to alert your instructors. Mine are all sooo understanding. At one point I had to be hospitalized and my instructors allowed me to submit assignments through WebCT so that I wouldnt get behind.
You can do anything you put your mind to, just take care of yourself and your baby. Get plenty of rest (ha) and try to eat right.
GOOD LUCK!

My sister continued to do online studies while she was pregnant and worked full time at the same time. I see no reason why you can't go to school while pregnant, and in fact I would encourage it because it will be a lot easier now than after the baby is born.
Good luck in your studies!

Well, I guess it won't be that hard WHILE you're pregnant, as long as you pay attention to your health... You'll need to eat well, train a bit, maybe, and sleep well. If you think you'll be able to study and do that at the same, why wouldn't you? After giving birth, you might want to consider taking a little time off though, to get some rest and take care of the baby.
