Believe it or not I was mugged outside my house about 10 years ago after I got home from work (I worked second shift and it was about 11:30pm).
Two guys grabbed ahold of me and used me as a punching bag and broke my jaw.
Spent two days in the hospital and weeks with my mouth wired shut. Also I still have a plate on my jaw bone from the surgery to repair it.
One of the guys was eventually caught and spent 6 years in prison.
Wanna know how he was caught?
Just two weeks after I was mugged he did it again to a Dominoes Pizza Delivery guy that is bigger than me and he held him down.
I was able to identify him as one of the ones that attacked me from a list of police photos. After I did so he knew he was screwed and eventually confessed.
To this day I still have problems with my jaw!

at the beginning of the year i broke all the fingers on my left hand except for the thumb: amputated the tip of little finger, crushed ring finger, broke middle, and crushed index. plus lacerated all tissues and muscles.
i work on merchant ships and got my hand caught between a 60mm thick mooring rope and the ships side under a pressure of 40 tonnes. sore to say the least. have had 5 operations on it during the course of the year. got about 50% functionality so far after continuous therapy.
hope this helps. BTW i wouldn't recommend trying this at all.
