Ooooh, that's an easy one. Because they're idiots.
I expect they are counted in some contests, but not all.

Well if you get 1000 free text messages a month and you only use about 300 of them... why not spend the other 700 on things like that. You're paying for the priv. to text others... being able to send in votes is an added entertainment.

I think some people have so many free texts that they do this just to use them up! I think they do get counted, probably electronically, but really at the end of the day, who cares, apart from the people making all the money from it of course!

Each to their own, I say, true I think it's all stupid, but most people woould probably think things I spend my money on is stupid....OK I'm right and they're wrong...;-)
