ok, so for like a few months now "down there" has been itching on and off LIKE CRAZY. seriously, like one second i'll just be doing whatever and then all of a sudden i start itching and it won't go away lol. and then after it stops itching, sometimes it burns really bad, like if i go to the bathroom or something, and sometimes it bleeds a little bit. (not alot tho).
what could be wrong? and what should i do? i am seventeen, and i don't want to tell my mom or anything coz DUDE that's embarrassing as hell! lol
advice??
:-)
(btw, i know i used to very prone to really bad yeast infections when i was little. i don't know if that would have anything to do with this, or not......)

even if you don't want to tell your mom about it, let her take you to the doctor and she doesn't have to be in the room w/ you. doctors are supposed to keep the visit confidential.

what you have sounds like a yeast infection. do you see any white, cottage-cheese like discharge? i suggest you go to the doctor. but if you want to, there are over the counter meds for yeast infection, like Monistat. since you also mention that there's a burning sensation also and you see bleeding, that may be a urinary tract infection. that, you have to go see a doctor for the right medications. start drinking your cranberry juice too. hope this helps..good luck!

I've had uro problems all my life and now i use the overcounter drug uristat when i pee and it hurts, burns...all i know within 5 minutes the burning and constinence is gone til i see a doctor. I keep it in my car, purse, home because I hate that uro problem and its a immediate remedy...I'm also a sufferer of yeast since I was 12 years old...yeah i have it bad but with modern technology my life is much better.

I use Diflucan and it works well most results for me are not instant but within a few hours..my doc keeps my refills available all year long since i get yeast from everything....looking at sweets and sugar too long gives me yeast and I have been checked by my doctor for diabetes, AIDS, HIV, everything I have checkups every 6 months...I'm good but just can't escape yeast and uro's...

when you take the diflucan it will not stop the itch immediately so i reccommend putting pure yoghurt or a yeast ointment that works...a store brand yeast medicine just as good....when I'm hit with a yeast attack I start eating pure yoghurt...if i itch and run out of ointment i put the live cultures(yoghurt right on the itch and it helps). then i call the pharmacy and let them know i need to pick up my refill immediately...i hope this help...also invest in a mirror that you can checkout your infected area...yeast looks milky and white looking not a pretty site after the itchies...it could get swollen too...

oh yeah and antibotics do cause yeast especially clindamicyn...normally docs prescribe diflucan or other yeast med at the same time

Hello, I'm on the second week and seeing definite improvement on my yeast infection symptoms:

Note that: If the yeast infection doesn't respond to over the counter treatment, prescription medication will likely be necessary. Similarly, if the symptoms return after two months of being treated, you should contact the doctor for professional treatment rather than resorting again to home treatment.

If this is the first time you have experienced a yeast infection, you should schedule an appointment to have the condition treated by a doctor instead of resorting to home treatment

Yes it could be a yeast infection you could try a over the counter medication for yeast infections and if this does not work then you may have vaginitis which there are different types so you would need to see a doctor to diagnose and treat this problem. If you are sexually active you could also have an STD. Don't be embarrassed to tell your mom I can guarantee she has had similar symptoms in her life.

Does it itch on the outside or the inside or both? wash the area frequently and always keep it dry. you can get over the counter vag cream for itching in the outside region. for the inside you will have to diligently use the applicators for yeast infection, do not wear the same panties once you have had the infection, even after 5 washes you can contract yeast infection again.... trust me I didn't know that either.... keep you underware separate for at least 3mnth and wash them in hot water and don't use any laundry detergent, this will help to get the yeast off of it. don't wear tight underware either or else u will keep contracting the infection. for the burning you are itching the sensitive part excessively and its resulting to bld spoting and burning, if you wash it and keep dry u will be ok. apply the vag anti itch cream after every time you use the restroom just a liitle bit at a time untill you see the dference. try wearing cotton panties if possible this will help also. If burning irritation is really bad try not to have sex either this will make it worse and you will have to seek medical help.....
either way if things are not better I would really recommend u to see your gynacologist.
ok take care hope this helps u any???

It could be vaginitis. That is really painful like you are describing and only an antibiotic will take it away. Another possibility could be an allergy to a new fabric softener or laundry detergent. That happened to me once also. Tell your mother. If she is like the rest of us, she has experienced these symptoms at some time in her life and will help you. You really need to see the gnyo to properly diagnose it for you and treat it. Good Luck.

Sounds like it, I would go to the gyno though just to be sure. Are you sexually active? It sounds like it could be a std also.
