Honestly speaking, THE ANSWER IS YES.
I have a great feeling that Rafael Nadal's rampage on clay will be put to halt on 2007. Others may form speculations that Nadal is already on his way down, but that would not be entirely true. Nadal will still win numerous matches on clay --- but it won't be the same as his performance this year.
And of course, Roger Federer will be there to exploit Nadal's weakness. He will just play superb tennis; and he will punctuate answers to every Nadal shots that he was not able to solve in 2006. The confidence of winning over Nadal back-to-back-to-back (Wimby/Shanghai/Seoul, though on different surfaces) will give Roger enough confidence. I think nobody would argue that had Federer been more confident during his previous battle with Nadal on clay, the result would have been different.
Nadal will still win a number of clay tournaments this year; unfortunately for him, the French Open will slip from his hands. Roland Garros trophy this year will not just be a trophy --- it will serve as an EXCLAMATION POINT proclaiming who is the Greatest Tennis Player of All Time...

That's a good question. Until the Wimbledon final, people kept wondering that about Nadal too. Rafa did it! But in Federer's case, his game's really weak right now. He's getting older and he's not able to move as well as he used to. He had a stronger chance two years ago - when he beat Rafa at the Hamburg Open. This year he lost in straight sets! I think he'll be like all the other legends - winning all the other Slams except the French. Nadal has more competition from the young players like Djokovic.

He ought to win the French some year. This year he had the pressure of having won the three previous majors. I recall the only time he lost to Roddick, which was the first match he played when winning would have given him the #1 ranking for the first time.
I'm tempted to predict that Federer wins the French next year if neither he nor Nadal wins the Australian. Then the hold-all-four pressure will be gone, and Nadal won't have the confidence of a leg up on the year. If RF can beat RN on clay before the event, I'll make him an odds-on favourite.
Of course if Nadal prevents it, his own all-time status goes up every time. Barring a big shift between them, I suspect that as things now stand Nadal might stop Federer on any occasion but can't do it every time indefinitely.

of course...
he has proved that he's capable of playing his best on almost all surfaces. He had won the US, Wimbledon and OZ but when it comes to playing at French, his consistency and game on clay are being tested. This year, he reached the finals of 3 biggest clay tournaments in a year, but he lost to Nadal in those meetings. The problem was Nadal simply played better than Fed on clay, but Federer nearly beated him after not being able to convert match points. it means that this year Fed should be ready to take his 1st ever Roland Garros title and strengthen his no. 1 position and his status as world's best ever.
P.S. Fed had beated Nadal back in Wimbledon, Shanghai and Seoul this year.

I think he will in 2007, he started winning Nadal again, so it's possible, he is more confident now.

If he keeps playing the way he's been in last few weeks (such as Masters Championship in Shanghai), he will. I can't believe he just keeps getting better, is it possible??
