I heard that Ricky Scaggs died.I have not heard this before

According to the Scaggs family web site Ricky Scaggs is still alive and making music.

2006 marks Ricky's 35th year as a professional musician, and this eleven-time Grammy Award winner continues to do his part to lead the recent roots revival in music.

I dont think what you heard is correct. As far as I know, he is
still alive.
