I dont think what she said is true. Some bleed and others dont. When I was pregnant with my son I didnt bleed at all during my pregnancy and this pregnancy (which im having a girl) I did have a slight bleed scare a few months back but i dont think it means what she is saying.

Oh yes, I have been through this! It is so scary. When I was probably 3 months pregnant with my son I started bleeding very badly. I mean it was A LOT!
I went to the doctor, and they couldn't find the baby's heart beat. It was TERRIBLE..
Everyone in the room which was the nurse, the doctor and my husband and me, just looked at each other, with "that look" and it was so awful. I was almost ready to cry.
The doctor tried some more to find the heartbeat, and finally he found it. Everyone was so releived. We all breathed an audible sigh of relief!
The doctor ordered an ultrasound anyway, just to check things out, and the baby looked okay.
He said it may have been a mild premature separation of the placenta that caused all the trouble.
There were no more scary incidences with the pregnancy.
My son is now 13 years old, and healthy as can be.
So, your sister in law is wrong. This can happen with boys too.

At 10 weeks along I had a bleeding scare. I went to the bathroom at about 2AM and there was a ton of blood in my underwear....just like a period. I freaked out. There was no pain, just bleeding. I went to the ER and my Dr told me, after a vaginal ultrasound, that I had a low lying placenta. But it would move up as the uterus grew. And it did......today I have a very happy and healthy 4 y/o SON.

I was pregnant with my son and I started bleeding at 30 weeks. It was deep dark red and lasted like 2 days. Key word=SON. Had him at 40 weeks 3 days healthy as a horse.

I would wait until your around four months. I waited unless I felt like I was displaying. You could continue to work at Mcdonalds unless your health practitioner tells you otherwise. (high danger, problems)
