I'm a student of B.Tech. Information Technology. I would also like to know how much of an increase I can expect in my salary if I pursue an MS or MBA along with my job.

Robin is telling too much. For freshers, it starts with 2.5 lakhs per annum. If you are an MBA/MS/M.Tech., it starts from at least 4.5 lakhs per annum.
These figures are indicative only, it may be higher for pass-outs from good institutes.
As far as increase in concerned, depending upon your performance; you can double your salary within a year after joining.

My company uses some of the above mentioned IT providers and the simple answer is that less money for investment or more cautious investment strategies will impact demand for these IT services which probably spells restructuring and redundancies ( worst case scenario). Off course it all depends on the actual exposure of these firms to the different industries and how they will fair in the downturn.

the starting salray varies from 1.8 lacs - 2.4 lacs per anum normally. but it may be higher for extraordinary students. M.tech/MBA will certainly rise the starting base. MS if done from india is not an added advantage.

2.5 Lac for fresh graduate, ~4 Lac post graduates. As per my experience it is not worth doing a MBA unless it is from Top institute.
