Orpheus was a Thracian poet and musician. Although he was associated with Apollo he was the son of a Thracian king. He never became a god, but was almost made into a demi-god by the gods and goddesses who were moved by the music he made.

arguing that Orpheus is Apollo's child is like a gossip amongst Greek god community. he was the son of a Thracian king and under the protection of god Apollo. in most of this cases like other mortals he gained the title of a semi-god himself.. but he was definitely male and a great singer

He was a hero (half-blood) who could sing very well in most versions of his stories, but some versions have him listed as a god.
