I am 38 wks and 4 days pregnant I went to a specialist Nov. 17 about my baby's growth, he weighed 4lbs 14 oz., they said he was healthy just small three days later I went to my doctor who I usually see and she got him weighing at 5 lbs 15 oz. Both I and my husband were small babies though. I was born at 38 wks weighing5 lbs and 8oz and my husband full term 6lbs and 8oz. Does anyone else have small babies?

I had my son at 38 weeks, 6 lb 13 oz, and my daughter at 39 weeks, 6 lb 8 oz. I was around 5 pounds when I was born. We are all completely fine and healthy!

I had a BIG baby the first time, I was 2 weeks late with delivery and they say that the baby packs on 1lb per week in the end of pregnancy. As long as the testing was fine and the Doctor is not concerned I would try to relax and enjoy these last few days/weeks of pregnancy. Once that baby comes out everything changes ;-) Sorry I can't help you, not having had a small baby myself but if the babies tests are ok then *try* not to worry.

Don't worry too much about birthweight. It really isn't that essential, as long as your baby is full term and healthy. You may find he weighs more than predicted, but whatever, he will be fine. Some babies are small, some large, but it often balances out in the end. Make sure you breastfeed to give him the best possible start.

And "amirbrais"..you are an idiot, by the way.A

My girl was barely over six pounds and she was fine. Plus youre still early in your pregnancy and you'll start gaining more and more quickly.
