Ice water and aspirin... Sugar water helps too but use Karo because granules will get clogged into the veins of the tree and kill it faster.

Keeping it cool is your best bet. and if you haven't already put it up, keeping it in a cool place in water wrapped up will also help!

Yes when you go buy it get it from a supplier where you can choose your tree from the paddock and cut it fresh. Then once you get it home re cut the trunk about one inch from the original cut and place it in water keep it watered as long as you can. Some stand you buy to hold them upright have a water storage area to keep the trunk moist. The best thing to do is to plant a suitable tree in your garden to decorate or plant one in a large tub you can wheel in each year and take back outside when you are finished. Should last ten years or so then get a new one.

Have you bought your tree yet? Cause if not, one of the loveliest things to do is to by a nice sized pine tree that is alive, roots and all. Next spring you can then plant in in your yard, or if you live in an apartement like me, you can plant it in a family member or friends yard.

It lives longer and helps the environment.

Lasy year I bought the tree about this time from... oh shoot... was it meijers... or lowes... or menards? One of those three! just call and ask!

the final element to do to maintain your christmas tree alive longer is purely to maintain it in ordinary water, and shop the water sparkling. many human beings say to place aspirin or sugar into the water. inspite of the undeniable fact that, whilst the water has a decrease concentration of water (because of the fact its mixed with sugar or aspirin) the water in the tree's cells will diffuse out of the cells to create equilibrium. Osmosis, the diffusion of water, is whilst water strikes from an area of better concentration of water to diminish concentration. With a decrease concentration being outdoors the tree's cells, alot of the water will leave the tree.
