i tried starting a band and we had a drummer, a guitarist and a bassist but the bassist left and the guitarist never wants to practice. How to i get him to want to practice, how can i recruit more people into the band, and whats a good name for the band? by the way, we already have a band name but it really sucks so give me a name you think is good and i'll see which i like more.

Your guitarist sounds quite dum, but not knowing him, I can't help you out there. If there's anyone in your school (I'm guessing you're still in school) who plays the right instrument, and providing you don't hate them, you can ask them to be in the band, or host an audition.
Band names? It has to come from the heart and the type of music you play. Try to think of something witty and good sounding with a ring to it.

Sum-41...they formed on the 41st day of summer. Try using this as an example. And about your lamebrain guitarist, if he doesn't want to practice, replace him--or at least act like you're replacing him. That might motivate him enough to make him practice. If you want to recruit people to your band, you can post an ad in the Classefieds section of your local paper, post on craig's list, hold open auditions in town.
If I were to have a band, I'd call it "Gamer's Addiction." A gamer that's addicted to rock.

How about Nsync? Just Kidding. Find some reliable band members and then decide on a name with them. If you ask everybody on Yahoo, you might get worse answers than Nsync.
