I am trying to make this scarf: http://knitty.com/ISSUEspring05/PATTbranchingout.html
This i smy first lace project. But I'm having trouble since the rows have different numbers. I started by casting on 25 stitches and followed the pattern instructions. But when I reached the top row of the charted lace pattern, I complete the pattern and am left with 5 remaining stitches. I know that I am supposed to knit the last three, but what about the two that are in between? The pattern is symmetrical so I don't know what to do. I also tried to redo the row and added one knitt in the beginning of the charted row and one at the end. And this worked for a bit, but when I started bottom of the charted pattern again, I had too many stitches and so I decide to undo the whole thing. I have started again but I am determined. If anyone could help me figure this out and explain it to me, that would be very helpful. THanks

I am quite sure that there was no error in the pattern because it was published and written by a professional. But thanks anyways

I am guessing but is it possible that in either row 7 or row 9 you forgot a decrease? It sound like you have too many stitches.

You will note that the written instructions include how many stitches you are supposed to have at the end of each row. Try taking it back to the last row with the correct stitch count and working from there.

And if that still doesn't work, try contacting the magazine. Someone there who has made the scarf may be able to suggest where you went wrong.

There could be some errors. I would try e-mailing the pattern designer, they have always been really good in my experience about getting back to you.

pass to a needlework save. a great number of outlets have on web page training, lots of varieties, yarns, and all the knitting needles you ought to ever prefer...alongside with a great number of advice. that's the main suitable place to start up.
