I feel my Christamas card list is getting too long and I am trying to determine if I should cut back, but how? My list includes immediate family members, life-long friends, and "weak-ties" people I know and care for, but seldom see, or people I've communicated with just once or twice several years ago. Should I continue to send these folks the annual card? What are some tips that other people use for refining their holiday card list to include meaningful connections and weeding out the casual contacts without being dismissive?

I'm in exactly the same spot as you are. I just got through paring down my list, and I removed the "weak-ties" and those I seldom see. I keep in touch with some by e-mail, and others will probably just fade away. It had to be done, however. You could still send a greeting card or note to them after the first of the year if you're really feeling guilty (or if you happen to get a card from them : (

this is hard but thanks to e - mail have found a way to avoid some of this as only a few will receive actual cards. suggest you trim off the seldom see and unless you get one from them. just wait and see as you can always send e - mail greetings. if you miss sending a Christmas card send a New Year's card.
