It's not fair at all. We should've totally forgotten the draft and we should never have to draft civilians who don't want to go into war.

it truly is extraordinarily a lot a stunt. Rangel is conventional with that he do not have help for this bill in both party. I have little question that he certainly does favor to institute a draft, yet and not using a real reason i do not see it taking place. the absolutely way we are going to confirm a draft bill accually go with the help of is that if 2 complete scale wars take position contained in the destiny. until eventually that occurs i rather does not issue a lot about it. proper ingredient to do is write your congressman and enable them comprehend how a lot you're adversarial to the draft. have self belief me i do not imagine this can be a democratic party ingredient , i imagine this can be a own ingredient from Rep Rangel's district.

Its like this............
if you re-elected a warmonger to office, you deserve to share the fate of those sent to war regardless of it being volunatry or not.
if you didn't vote at all, and are voting age, you should have, and still deserve the same fate for not helping change the outcome.
so without trying you in a sense supported a war-monger's re-election.
now even if you did vote against re-electing a war-monger to office, but didn't do anything to get your thought out about it such as: protesting, writing your congressmen or women, or doing anything motivational to call for a change in AMerican foriegn policy, sorry, but you still allowed the events that are occuring now, to happen, and deserve the same fate, as everyone else who didn't do anything to prevent the war.
if you don't fit into any of these groups...keep up the good work!
but even then a draft would prevent the people that are calling the shots from using false evidence to get us into another war, if their loved ones' butts are on the line!

No Rangel is not right. Unless of course everyone drafted supported the war to begin with. However that won't happen, so oh well. Rangel does not speak for the Democratic party. He is just pushing a lame duck idea.

Rangel has the right idea, in the sense that if senators and congressmen have to send their children to war, maybe the war will stop.
But the reality is that the rich kids would still find a way out of it, so why bother?

Rangel needs to be put out to pasture!! And to bring it back for the reasons he said??? He's been thru enough real wars he should know better. I really think he's not thinking straight!

Yes he is. If you want to support unnecessary wars, then lets see some of your family or friends at risk of being drafted.
Sounds fair to me.

That won't be necessary. The ones that are very proud to be Americans and support the troops and the war, are already signing as voluntaries. Thousands of them.

Anyone with an SSN would be eligible. It probably won't happen. It's a scare tactic.
