What do you think happened at the end with the japanese family?And what do you think the note said to the police man?

I think the japanese family has ended in peace but the director hopefully only suggested this happy end.
I think the note was just an explanation that she was responsible for the death of her mother but the policeman accepted not to open the note because he thought that was some love issue.

Hey man, I saw Babel just last night. I think the note was an apology to the officer along with an explanation as to what brought her to that point. Or she wrote down what actually happen to her mother because she couldn't bear to say/sign it.
what I'm hoping happens with Chieko and her father is they get her help. I'm sure she needs some sort of Therapy to help her get over her mother.
