Tony Blair seems like a prime minister for the 'post-modern' age,
with the New Labour idea of 'the third way', meaning neither the socialism of the left nor the free-market 'conservatism' of the right but something inbetween.

I think that Tony Blair was captivated by the personal charisma and enthusiasm of Bill Clinton and the American sense of self-belief, a quality which is actually often thought to be 'conservative' rather than in line with 'liberal' Democrat thinking. He probably admires George W Bush's non-compromising image too, as he admired Margaret Thatcher as well. Tony Blair is proud of money-making entrepreneurs part of whose wealth trickles down to their employees, not embarassed by them as some left-wingers (quite rich themselves) would be.

But the left-wing side of Tony Blair, which is more evident in other cabinet colleagues (and Tony Blair's own wife) means that you won't see Tony Blair talking out much against the E.U.'s rules and regulations (left wingers love regulations even though they pretend that right wingers love them more).

So, in economics, Tony Blair is quite conservative. In domestic social affairs he seems left wing.

Blair has a lot of things that he should apologise for. All of them, being his own doing! He should be apologising to the British People first and foremost. He has lost credibility both at home and in the International community. He should fall on his sward and call an early General Election.

Britiain as a nation had no involvement in the slave trade.
Only some individual naval officers transported african slaves to american colonies , but did so as independent ventures.
Britain was at the forefront of abolishion of slavery.Even the boer war was fought partly for abolition.
Thats the first myth expelled.
Tony blair will be well aware of these myths, but as usual is being dictated to by focus groups , he will pander to them in exchnge for popularity. Its what he does!
Instead of whinging on about something that most black ppl know nothing about, perhaps they should concentrate on progressing in life instead of blaming the british empire for their shortcomings.

there..i said it

a lot of human beings have deep sorrow over the U.Ks roll in slavery. yet actually that fluctuate into abolished over one hundred years in the past interior the U.ok. As for the crime value with the aid of black human beings. i don't think its any worse than while the Tory's have been in'. different than that there is so lots greater immigrant refugees, who're detrimental, as you may anticipate. they'd desire to stay someplace. i think of many united states's have taken a lot of them. i think of its the latest style or fad to bounce on the anti Blair wagon.
