Well, I don't totally understand your question, but I will try to answer it to the best of my ability.
I would say that most people appreciate gifts that are from the heart. I am not saying buying gifts is bad, but it shows you care more if you make the gift. There are several things you can make. Some that I have made in previous years and are making this year include:
-Wooden Key Chain (Take a thin slice of wood and sand then cover with magazine clipings that represent the person you are giving it to.)
-Scarves (you can knit them or find them at a store and add extra pieces on)
-Cookies or fudge in a nice tin (the tin can be bought at a dollar store)
-Puzzles (you can make them or buy them)
-Candles in a candle holder you made and decorated
-CD mix
-Pillows
-Quillows
-At home coupons (doing dishes, babysitting, etc.)
-Picture frames with pictures of you inside
-Scrapbooks
The list goes on and on. I hope that this helped you.

I went to the dollar store and bought those pretty 2007 pocket calendars and also some lovely ink pens and attached one in each calendar. I wrapped them and gave one to each relative. Everyone adored them and they all used them. $2.00 each!
