The main similarity between the two is that they are both rhythm music games. Beyond that they are quite different in how you interact with the game. Guitar hero is played using a 2/3 size guitar with buttons along the fret while DDR is played using a dance mat with buttons built into the surface. The music styles are also different with guitar hero focusing on various types of rock music and ddr focusing on techno and pop music. Personally I'd go with guitar hero based on the fun factor. DDR does have one advantage in that if you have one dance mat there are 7 or 8 ddr games you can purchase for it while guitar hero only has 2.

GUITAR HERO all the way. if you ever looked at someone good playing ddr he looks stupid. no one really dances like that. you have to love a good guitar lick, or song way better then some techno dance beat song too.

i think Amplitude is the greatest music game that no one has ever heard of, but it's extremely addictive...well, if i have to choose one of these...i vote guitar hero, even though i haven't played it (i had to leave my friend's house before i got a chance), but it looks like a lot of fun. DDR is challenging, maybe too challenging, especially when you get up to the higher levels. personally, i game better with my fingers than with my feet, and (if anyone cares) amplitude is also a finger based game. check it out, its fun. but i vote Guitar Hero.

nicely it may be not undemanding for a 6 year previous to play guitar hero. yet guitar hero is alot of exciting. i could get your little brother ddr and while he gets older get him guitar hero.

ddr..you look cooler when playing it..and its a workout and you dont even realize it..it takes practice but once you get the hang of it ..you'll get better and better
