OK< my opinion (as a nurse).
There is a condition where laying down causes pressure on a part of the heart that controls speed and depth of beat. I cannot for the life of me remember what it is called. But if it is this you need treatment. Go and see your doctor without delay, who may well refer you to a cardiac specialist....;

you may have Tachycardia, which is a medical disorder of a high heart rate. A normal heart rate is between 60 and 100 for the average adult. An athelete will have around 50 or 60s and a person who is a little more obese or doesn't excercize properly will be closer to the hundreds. The best thing to do is go to the doctor ask him/her if it could be Tachycardia. He will run some test and then you can go from there. If it is no more than a 100 beats per minute then you will be fine, if more than that see a doctor. Good luck.

I had similar a couple of years ago. My heart would suddenly race and then miss a beat, then race again. It was very scary but app it was because I was working so hard and was so busy that when I stopped (lay down at night) my heart struggled to slow down and calm itself.

Not sure if that helps you, but wanted to let you know I was fine and it was just a matter of calming things down in general (which was the difficult bit!!)

I have had this - it sounds like you are a bit anxious. Also, obviously when you are lying down you are far more aware of your pulse. Exercise has helped me. Also, try to steer clear of alcohol - it makes it a lot worse.

Probably anxiety. Get checked out in case it's a heart problem. If it's not, you've got issues in your life that you need to resolve - don't let them make you ill.

You should see a doctor, it may be nothing sinister but should be checked out anyway!
