I've been to Aruba several times. It is actually under the government of Holland. The Queen visits once each year.

The island is very small - only about 6 miles wide & 8 miles long. One side has a very very rough coast - high fierce waves crashing in to the rocky coast. The other side is calm, serene and beautiful! The Coral Bridge there (one of two) fell a couple of years ago - the other one is intact.

The trade winds blow & the didi trees are bent by the wind.

The people are wonderful.

I believe the port city was Arunjastuad or something near that.

They have an authentic windmill that is / was a gift from Holland. I love it there.

one of my favorite cruise ports.
