It needs to be romantic and thoughtful. I just need a push in the right direction.

Have you been married long? I think that something thoughtful would be nice.. Maybe go back to your photo albums and find picts of when you first started dating, pictures of the fun things that you have done together, and make her a "new" album. With poems, or sayings. If she likes humor, maybe some bubble words(like in cartoons)
Things from the heart mean alot more than the things that you buy, but,a pair of diamond earrings never hurt!!!

You can also get some really cool things at wal-mart (PLEASE DON'T QUIT READING) A cousin of mine lost her husband, she took a picture of him up there and got it etched into a gold pendant, it takes time though. At least check it out. Especially nice if you have children.

How about starting off with a small gift like Jewerly or something maybe some earrings and then making up some IOU like IOU a massage ( come on women LOVED to be pampered BUT they LOVE being pampered by the men they love the most) going out for a nice dinner and seeing the movie she wants to see then leaving the next morning to a bed and breakfast where in the room on the bed there will be rose petals all over the place and some nice white candles lit...

i am married and have been for 3 yrs..... i have had 6 birthdays and christmas' combined in that time... wow sounds like some genious math there huh. :) hehe...

anyway, point is, that i am OVER the whole jewelry bit.... it just gets old after a while to know that i am gonna open a box with another piece of jewelry, i can seriously think of a million other things i would want....

maybe a propane fire place.. or new sheets/bed set, a gift certificate to an adult store or a favorite boutique... maybe a gift certificate to her fave clothing store. a weekend at the health spa would be great, or hour massages every week for 3 months.... something anything, but jewelry is expensive and there are a lot of other things you could do for the same price.

It would be easier for us to help u decide if you gave us some of her interests and such.

You want romantic? Try a weekend get away at a quaint bed/breakfast. Those are romantic.

Any gift for christmas for a woman is thoughtful as long as it has absolutly NOTHING to do with HOUSEWORK!! Remember that! You'll go far! :-)

It's not as hard as people make it out to be. If you've listened to your wife in the past, you know exactly what she likes, wants, and would never expect to get. Just put some thought into it. There is something that she really would love to have above all else. My wife told me for years that she always wanted a nice small diamond pendant. It took five years for me to stop getting her what I wanted her to have and get her what she wanted. I could have saved tons of money. lol

How about a weekend away for the two of you at a health spa so she (and you) can have really nice massages / facials during the day and have romantic candlelit meals with you in the evening. Did it recently with my husband for an anniversary and it was great

Well you didn't mention a budget, so from the top, diamonds are always good. Maybe a diamond pendant.

If you're on a tighter budget... then maybe some other jewelry with less costly stones.

Jewelry is good because everytime they look at it they think of you, and they have fun showing it off to friends.

I know this isn't original, but it really depends what she is interested in or what she likes. Think of something she has been dreaming of but doesn't think she can have and get it for her. It does not necessarily have to be something expensive. Maybe something that you have to go to a lot of trouble to arrange, like meeting someone who is her idol or going to a special concert that is sold out but you get tickets for it on eBay or Stubhub. Or a rare sort of necklace or dress that you have to travel a long way to get. The most important thing is to listen to her and really get an idea what excites her the most in the world.

If you know what she likes then you know what to get her.

There are many cliche gifts but the best ones come from the heart and are never "bad gifts" because you put thought into finding something they would never buy for themselves but they would love.
