abolutely. Geeks are people who obsess over certain topics. Common Geek topics:
1. Star Trek
2. Star Wars
3. Buffy The Vampire Slayer
4. Anime
5. Video Games (Especially RPGs and MMORPG's)
6. Table Top Roleplaying Games ( Dungeons and Dragons, Vampire the Masquerade, Mage the Ascention, Big Eyes Small Mouth, Paranoia, Toon, GURPS, Continuum,. Shadowrun, Nightlife, Amber, Nephillim, Call of Cthulu, Lord of the Rings and the like)
7. Card Games (Aliens vs Predator, Magic the Gathering, Pokemon, Yugi Oh, Harry Potter, Legend of the Five Rings)
8. Books especially Harry Potter, but also Sci Fi/Fantasy in General like Lord of the Rings,
9. Comic Books and Graphi Novels
10.Figures (Collectors edition like Todd MacFarlane)
11. Movies (Sci Fi movies, Some people are even Disney Geeks)
In short, get a hobby and really obsess over it.

Interestingly enough, Wikipedia says:
A geek is an individual who is fascinated, perhaps obsessively, by obscure or very specific areas of knowledge and imagination, usually electronic or virtual in nature. Geek may not always have the same meaning as the term nerd.
I am fascinated by various areas of knowledge and imagination but definitely n ot anything electronic or virtual in nature; thereby not being a geek, myself!!! Hooray!
Also, I imagine geeks are termed so from movies we've watched in the past where the little guy is wearing high water pants that do not go past the ankle, thick white socks in penny loafers (usually brown). He has black hair parted down the middle, laid down with a huge amount of brylcream. His thick glasses are usually black framed. He has bucked teeth and icky pimples that ooze about his face. He isn't incredibly intelligent (as nerds are) and just makes a nuisance of himself especially at trade shows that showcase high technology gadgets.

I'm a geek!!! And proud of it. Specifically I obsess over anime, graphic novels and Harry Potter. I am also a bibliophile. If you are a geek you just like something enough to center your life around it.
And respect geeks because without us you would have no cell phones, or computers. You wouldn't have the gaming industry either because who do you think invents the consoles and games? Geeks of course.(no geeks=no Wii)

I believe everyone is a geek ... we all have our own quirks ... our own idiosyncrasies ... and most of us look funny to at least a few other people.
