If your husband is saying this, I would ask yourself what is keeping me here? I don't care if you have been in a relationship 10 months or 50 years...there has to be respect. It sounds as if your hubby does not respect you, hence saying he could go get another.
I would suggest that it probably would not be that easy for him to find another that deals with him like you do.
I say you confront him and ask him what the problem is and work on this together.

That's one of the most hateful things I've heard in a long time. Sorry you had to go through that statement. However, do you want to destroy a long relationship over one stupid statement? You didn't mention divorce, but I think with that kind of garbage it might be at the back of your mind. I'm 49. My wife knows that if something happened to her, that there are 4-5 women who would gladly stand in line for the position she left. I won't marry anyone else ever again, but would rather stay single and basically alone. However, she is my only reason for existing! Sounds like that isn't exactly what your husband thinks. Time for a little pizazz in the marriage!

My ex is 49 and is the most beautiful woman in the world. Men much younger are always hitting on her. She has taken liberties with a couple of them only to be taken advantage of. Her attitude is somewhat questionable and guys seem to only want her for sex. If I am going to go that route then I would definitely seek out someone considerably younger. What he said was probably said in spite to hurt you and get a reaction.

Not all men think like that, I am sorry to say this but your hubby has a bad mouth, and do not seem to be a nice guy.
49 is a lovely age for a woman where she is so sweet and sexy, and should be loved more

Definitely call his bluff. He better wake up and realize that there just arent that many younger girls out there looking for "daddy" figures unless he just happens to be filthy rich. For some strange unknown reason guys have come up with this notion that they can automatically replace their current wife wit some drop dead gorgeous swimsuit model who is just lying around waiting for some middle age Fabio wannabe. he probably could find someone probably who isnt anywhere near the woman you are if you know what I mean. Chances are nowadays you could replace him with someone younger easier because there are more young guys looking for older, more mature in all ways, sophisticated women then ever before, look at Hollywood. Just remind him of that and tell him thats its not having what you want but wanting what you have. Good luck

hmmmm... i hope that is not what i have to look forward too.
maybe you should ask your man if he is joking or if he is at all serious.... and let him know that the comments are hurtful and that he needs to make it up to you by showing you just how un-washed-up you are. :)
