Why doesn't my Keyboard have full functionality?

I was working with my keyboard and playing games and such but when i attempt to use some of the quick keys and shortcut keys it just doesn't work.

pls define quick key and shortcut keys.

pls define "doesn't work. Nothing happens, wrong thing happens etc.
