I create my own destiny. I allow nothing up to fate.

Good question. I too would like to know that awnser. Some very strange coincidences have happened in my life that would indicate fate but also things have indicated that there is no fate. I know that much of life is down to chance. Your born black or white rich or poor in good health or bad and so on. So I dont know if everything is chance or if there is a specific destiny for each of us. Im going to lean on the side of fate for now as it makes me feel better to believe that im destined for good things.

I do believe. As crazy as it sounds, Forest Gump. I know, I know, Forest isn't Socrates. Hell, Forest isn't even real person as we commonly define real people, but he had a killer idea about fate. He couldn't decide if we all have a destiny like Capt. Dan believed or if we were all just floating on the breeze as his mother believed, but in the end he said, " a little bit of both."
My analogy may be a little cheezey, but it makes for interesting speculation. We are all souls with free wills, but perhaps there are some things that are meant to be. I believe in fate even if chance has a small part to play as well.

I believe in fate-for several complex reasons that all intertwine together, they are hard to put in words-but I will do my best to put in a nutshell: First, I believe in God-and I don't know how I would interpret this world, and our purpose of being here, if we were all just "fate-less" creatures existing-merely to exist- I believe we have a purpose... that a mix of our desicions and God determine our fate...its complex-I guess a I would ask if our fate can change?

I believe that there is an inevitability to all things that happen, but that this is not cosmic, merely the effect of natural social forces that are out of our control and have been in effect since the beginging of social organization, just like the heat of the sun or rotation of the earth. I see all of the major events I've experienced as having great and structured significance in the grander scheme of my life, and I really do believe that there is no better way for things to work out than the way they do. There is opportunity for growth and unbounded potential for amazing things in our lives with everything that happens, whether or not we are expecting it and it is a negative experience in itself.

yes i believe in fate. fate is what makes us. it is what represents us in the world today. fate to me tells us about our past, present, and our future. you have to believe in fate to be in the world of today.

Indeterministic fatalism
because it's the most coherent theory.
I'd rather believe in free will. But you can't choose a belief. Nor do reasons bring us to belief, always. It's totally animal.
Try believing there is a giraffe in the room.
Imagination =/= belief, you KNOW it's not there.

I believe that your life is written in God's book from the day you are born and everything that happens to you is supposed to happen to you. Past experiences whether they are good or bad make us who we are. The important thing is how much do you learn and grow from your experiences, and how do they make you treat other people.
