Oh goodness....where do I begin?
First off, count your blessings. Be thankful for each day. Even the days that don't go so well. They make the good days even better.
Always remember, there's always someone in worse shape than you....either finacianlly or health wise.
The best thing is to keep a sense of humor!!! You must see the alughter in things that go wrong...or that are upsetting.
Life is what we make it. I just happen to be an optimistic person. Being a pessimitic person just brings you down and tends to make you think of negitive things. Life is just too short for that!

It's all about baby steps. You begin with smiling at yourself in the mirror in the morning, no matter what you see. Talk to yourself, saying things like; it's going to be a great day; I am going to have a good day; and so on.Smile every time you answer the phone. When you see someone who needs a hand, lend it. It may just be opening a door for a woman, and smile. Look purposely for good things to say about other people. When someone pays you a compliment, smile and simply say thank you. Believe the good things about you. When you catch a negative thought or attitude rising up, stop and find a way to turn it positive. Talking aloud makes you hear yourself and helps to apply what ever positive thing you are trying to do. Listen to upbeat music only. Get rid of anything that tears down the positive vibe you wish to bring into being...this includes Country; Rap that is demeaning; and other vulgar or hate filled media. Do nice things for others with absolutely no want for restitution. I have found it best to do so anonymously. That way you CAN'T get the glory. The list goes on and on. You will learn what makes you happy and pretty soon you will be looking for ways to progress your attitude on your own. Best of Luck to you dear. Nana

Based upon experience, attitude is a combination of what we know and believe when we go into an experience, and what we have been taught to know and believe after we leave it.

A "healthy attitude" is not necessarily one in which we quietly accept our environment. We are all worthy of being here, but many would have us believe that they are more worthy than others; which is one of the main reasons why the U.S. Declaration of Independence was written.

In contrast, a "healthy attitude" may not be what is carried by many of the people around us. Many school age children are routinely confronted with the belief that it's not cool to get good grades. Accepting this belief gives one acceptance, but greatly reduces your future.

Finally, based upon personal experience, be careful about what you come to accept as true and unchangeable. For example:

When I was a child, I learned to read in the first grade, which was when most children learned to read. After the Cold War started, the U.S. hoped to win the war by increasing our knowledge of science and their general knowledge. A popular book on the subject was "Why Johnny can't read." The subtitle of the book was "and why Ivan can."

Now, children in the U.S. are expected to be reading when they enter first grade, when in fact many children's brains are not developed to the point of being able to learn to read well until the fifth grade. As a result of this, many children in the U.S. repeatedly fail to read on the present timescale of success. Instead of learning to read, by second grade their repeated negative experiences with reading teaches them that they are failures, and they frequently give up all hope of being successful at anything. Eventually, any requirement to read only deepens their despair.

We all have our limitations, but some are learned, and only a few are real.
