Hi, Poppy, It does not make sense that our souls should die because our bodies do. Our bodies are only a vehicle and machine to carry out our everyday activities. Our bodies also carry the mass of our brains and produce the electrical supply to allow such activity. Your soul is energy over consciousness multiplied by power, in other words has nothing to do with reality and your soul just like mine is evolving and will continue to evolve for many many more billions of years. Who knows in 3000years time you and I might meet up and have a highly satisfying affair (roll on 3000 years). Don't worry about being punished for your sins that comes at the time of death when man or woman sees their past in its entirety, God! I would not like to be Blair or Bush at that time. Live a good life and you have nothing to fear. ATB Red

The night dream is real until the dreamer awakens. The dream of material life and death seems real to mortals, and why shouldn’t it when they have not woken from this phase of existence. A certain death did occur so that as people asked this question, they would find a place to go. I think if you asked God this question, he might say, “but could you explain death, because I don’t see it anywhere.” So now the question is, “if there is no death after life, do we just remain alive?” The first are last and the last are first. Think. You can feel something inside tugging at you to make you keep looking and asking. Why is that? Is it the fear of death or something infinitely greater?

I would like to think there is an after life. I am certain I have 'seen' at least one ghost (others have appeared and engaged in conversation, but sadly alcohol had also been consumed in great quantity) We are told that energy can't be destroyed, so whilst we know the body perishes, the mind is a separate entity. Reincarnation fascinates me as it has cultures since time immemorial. Of course, we don't know for certain, but there are many things in the future, we only learn about during and after the event. Religion isn't an issue here. There either is or is not life after death.

This cannot be answered as we don't fully understand life and living and what love is.
We know nothing of the nature of death.
We have seen it happen to others close or distant we all are touched by what we see and feel but that is not death either, that is reaction.

Life is enter, death is exist.
Does not necessarily mean beginning and ending.

The body obviously becomes old and ends.

You are not just a body a mind or a thought.

There is a mystery in all this, maybe understanding life fully holds the key.

Who is this we that remains dead? Is it something static? Something that doesnt change? Everything that changes, has life, or energy...so that something couldnt stay dead but would have to keep on changing from one form to another. However , what if the essence of what we are was static all along? Presumably if it was it will stay that way - maybe it always has stayed that way ...personally if that is the case I m not too worried it will just stand still while everything else keeps moving as it always has. I feel pretty sure life keeps going on, we will not be static - but be something different that we do not recognise, and maybe not an induvidual like you are now - but a part of something bigger....

I think this one all depends on each persons own beliefs. You dont have to be spiritual or believe in God to believe in things.

Some people believe thiers a life after death, meaning we all either go to Heaven or Hell.

Some people believe that when we die we just die and thats it. No place else to go.

Some people believe we go somewhere or we can stay as Ghosts lol.

My own personal beliefs is I think we go somewhere but we wont actually know WHERE that is until we die. My reason behing this is our bodies are just made up of flesh, blood, organs and bones etc BUT what our spirit? The one thing that makes ALL of us different. Our brains help us think and make decisions but our spirit is the person that makes you, YOU. I dont think that when we die that is just it. Yes our bodies die and so laid to rest in the ground or turned to ashes but our spirit surely doesny just go to sleep.

When we go to sleep our spirit lets us travel places and we see things and people in our lives. This is actually known as Astral Projection. Our spirit self leaves our bodies while we sleep to sometimes seek out answers to everyday problems which we cnat work out in our waking state.

So when we die I think our spirit goes to another plane and maybe is born again into another body.

This then opens up the question about past lives. Why do we sometimes feel we have been somewhere before when we know we havent etc.

Its all a big mystery to everyone but we will all one day discover the truth.

If there is no life after death, or reincarnation, then I suppose our condition after death can be likened to our condition before we were conceived by our mothers. Before conception, we didn't exist, except in the sense of the existence of the bits of matter which would eventually make up our physical bodies. After death, that same state of non-existence occurs again, though the body remains for the worms to eat. It won't matter to you that there is no afterlife, because there won't be a "you" to whom it might matter.

If there is life after death, then most religions would wish you to believe that it will come to you whether you want it (heaven) or not (hell), rather than that you will qualify or not qualify for afterlife. If these religions are right, then the sort of afterlife you get might matter rather a lot to you after your death.

I know several people at work who "died" as the result of RTA's, all claim that everything was white for a while like a light shining in their eyes. There are many different opinions on what this was, one being heaven another being lack of oxygen to the brain. Another guy who had a brain haemmorage said he knew nothing about it and it was painless until he woke up in the hospital but his heart never stopped to my knowledge. I like to look at it this way, i'm a good person so if heaven exists then i have my place booked. If we simply die then we wont know about it so why worry about it|?

There is life before and after death, I do know that, and I am not lying. The blind man may say that clouds do not exist because he does not see them, but that does not mean those who see them are lying about their existence. It is terribly egotistical to discount the experience and knowledge of others because it is not ours. The research is available from many sources, but in order to know for oneself, one can study the research of others and then do one's own. It takes discipline and an open mind, but we can all make contact with and learn about the spiritual world if we are careful to find good guidance, avoid the fast-track sensationalists and their ways as well as the naysayers, and be very patient while we work. A good starting point is gratitude. No need to worry about the if, but rather the what and why of life after death -- and before birth.

yes body will remain dead, and depending on how strong the legacy you leave behind it might last for ever. For example everyone knows the roman emperor who conquered all, the european who discovered america, the indian guy who fought a nation without picking up a weapon and won. how stong is the legacy your gona leave behind. Will it stand the test of time even though you may have passed away?
