the library has all kinds of cool things and a chilton manual can be found in the automotive section.

The information contained in repair manuals cost the publishers dearly. They must pay the manufacturers for it, and there aren't many people who can afford, and are disposed to placing it out there at no cost.
If money is the sole issue, try the local library. This is your tax dollars at work. Use it.
If it is the repair manual first and foremost, then purchase one either from Amazon, BN.com or ??? or from the local parts store. They typically go for < $20.00 USD.

...and for a modest annual subscription fee, you can have access to all of the published repair information for your car, including diagnostics, repair information, illustrations and diagrams, both electrical and vacuum. This is VERY good stuff, professional level.

It would make more economical sense to get rid of that car than to spend $25 on a manual for it.
