One thing you could try is making a list of pros and cons for not doing your essay in the next two days. Think with an open mind when you make your list. For example, if you think "because I don't find it enjoyable" then write it down. One you've exhaustively done your pros and cons list, then try to weight each reason using a rating of your own choice. Once you've done all this, then total the scores at the bottom. If you find the cons outweigh the pros, then it tells you that you need to do something about it.
Assuming you want to do the essay, you could aim to spend 20 minutes. This means that if you spend the 20 minutes, you have achieved your goal for that session. More than likely, you will start, and will get into it and spend more than 20 minutes. You sometimes have to start something to generate the motivation. Thinking "I've got to spend 6 hours in one go doing this" is an all-or-nothing approach, which won't work.

Some people think that interest in a subject motivates people. We as humans enjoy doing things that interest us, personally I love psychology, which is why I am a Psychology Student and hope to make a career about it. I will put my heart and sole into it, because I enjoy it, it interests me. Does psychology interest you? If it doesn't then maybe you need to re-think your Subject choices. maybe it does interest you, but maybe you have worked so hard at college ect ect, now you just want to have fun. be wise with you time, go out and have fun, go clubbing or go out with friends, set a certain time for an essay, and do it then, try not to get displaced Ie by the internet or tv. If you keep 'unmitivated' you will fail and your money for university will be wasted.

I was going to say you might need a psychologist but thought better of it. Psychology is a very heavy subject. Are you sure it's what you want to do? Are you only like this about your work or would it apply to other aspects of your life, too? Sit down and think about it and the repercussions if you don't do the work. Try to just do the most important of them and you mightn't feel so loaded.
