No, I wish they did though, because at least sports have ground rules.

I think that all forms of violence: gangs, road rage, etc. act as a substitute for war. I think that war has been replaced by the general US vs. THEM mentality exhibited by most people nowadays. Specifically, if people are not out fighting other countries, they create circumstances in which to fight their own neighbours.

Sad.

This is the precise reason that the first Olympic Games were held in Greece in 776 BC...

Because they were tired of war, so this was invented as a "fun" substitute

Marathon, I believe, was 26+ miles from Athens, which was one of the running competitions...

Also, all the events took place in the nude, so that there were no unfair advantages, nor concealed weapons...

Nope not really because if that were true then there would be no more wars...I say lets make em play a game to figure out who the winner is! That would be much better!
