Try another disk in the player. If the player plays other disks then you have done something wrong while burning it. Don't forget that some older players will not play MP3s or even any burned disk. Get a newer model.

may be you are not burning it right. you need to burn it as a music CD. if you just copy the mp3 and burn it, it wont work. the other reason could be the CD-R itself. some cds dont work on the cd player. so you might wanna try a different brand cd and burn it and then see if it works.

you wont have to change the format to burn them. your cd burning software has it inbuilt. when you go to burn the cd using the cd burning software, it gives your multiple options to burn the cd. you need to select the option that says music cd instead of data cd and then pull in the mp3 songs and it will convert it for you.

Are you converting the mp3 to music cd format. That may be your problem. You can do this using nero. Just click the music cd option and you can burn your music on to your cd.

do you finialize (or close) the disk after burning? That is required for it to play in a player other than a computer.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
