Dampen the carpet then rake it with an old fork.

Hoover over the area to try and suck the pile up.
Use an ice cube in a bag over the area, then have a go with your hand or tweezers. Don't know why you do this, but my ex was a carpet cleaner by trade and he did it and it does work.

Hi wet a tea towel through and use a steam iron and place tea towel over the spots and steam iron over the top. brush up pile after and let dry' I hope this helps it worked for me.

Try ice to relax the fibres, and then brush over the area, try not to soak the carpet though (shrinkage). It has worked for me

lay an icecube on it and as the ice melts, yr carpet should regain its pile, might have to "fluff" it a little once its dry....

put ice cubes on it, leave them to melt and then loosen the carpet with a spoon or knife.

I read about this in a book i have just been reading, damn good book too by Lee Childs. Oh yes question, steam clean slowly.
