If you go by the number of Super Bowl rings, then the answer is Tom Brady. If you go by stats, the answer is Peyton Manning. Actually the most efficient quarterback in the NFL right now, based on the QB rating formula, is Tony Romo of the Cowboys, followed by Manning. However, Romo has played fewer games this season
than Manning, so I would say the answer right now is Manning.

You can't even mention McNabb as a top QB in the NFL...the Eagles don't even have a winning record at 5-5 and with the receivers McNabb has his numbers should be twice what they are. Every time he gets in a tough situation (which is when great QB's shine) he chokes (or throws up).
To answer the question, right now in the NFL Peyton Manning has to be the best at reading the defense and adjusting the play call at the line. Add in his numerous threats at WR and this makes him a huge threat. Tony Romo is another QB that is at the top of his game right now and he's only started 5 NFL games. He's very accurate and has a good arm. He also does a good job of recognizing the defense and often changes the play at the line (not as much as Manning though). He also has talented WR that make his job easy.

Now that McNabb is out for the season and possibly longer, who can say?
There are several good QB's but not with the same skills as McNabb. It depends on the O-Lines protection, the D-Backs cover on the opposing team: P. Manning, T. Brady, P. Rivers, T. Romo, D. Brees.

First of all, McNabb is out for the year, so he can't be the best in the NFL. Peyton Manning is an amazing QB. Tony Romo gets honorable mention for his performance on Thanksgiving. Drew Brees throws for hella yards but the Saints aren't that scary. I'd say Peyton Manning.

McNabb one of the best QB in the NFL? Are you kidding me? He is one of the so-so, but he is not great by any definition. I think some of the best QB's are Favre, Palmer, and P. Manning but I doubt you would agree since you think McNabb is best.

Hmmm...QBs I'd put ahead of McNabb include Peyton Manning, Brady, Favre, and eventually Romo if he keeps playing at the level he's at. That's just off the top of my head, mind you.
