Have u tryed reinstalling your drivers for your cd burner..Go into your hardware section and click reinstall.. Also i have the same problem as my burner is Kaput...apparantly they DON'T last forever as i thought! lol

Using the device manager, find the listing for your CD burner, right click on that, and choose "uninstall". Once you've exited from that, reboot your computer and Windows will "see" the burner as "New Hardware". Let it install the driver for it again. That ought to do the trick.
