The simplest way is to plug in each of the 4 solutions.

-1.5: -1.5^3 - 3(-1.5)^2 + 8 = -3.375 - 6.75 + 8 = -2.125
-1.4: -1.4^3 - 3(-1.4)^2 + 8 = -2.744 - 5.88 + 8 = -.624
1.4: 1.4^3 - 3(1.4)^2 + 8 = 2.744 - 5.88 + 8 = 4.864
1.5: 1.5^3 - 3(1.5)^2 + 8 = 3.375 - 6.75 + 8 = 4.625

okay if you wanted me to plug in the values (-1.5, -1.4, 1.4,1.5) u gave to me and use the formula x^3-3x^2+8
the asnswers would be

1. -2.125

2. -.624

3. 4.864

4. 4.625

all i did was insert the numbers you gave into the x spots and solve
i hope thats wat u wanted
