Simple algebra.

Left-Hand Side
(x/2)*.57 = 0.285x

Right-Hand Side
(x+1)/2*50 = 25(x+1) = 25x + 25

Together
0.285x = 25x + 25
-25 = (25 - 0.285)x = 24.715x
x = -25/24.715 = -1.0115

You wrote the equation incorrect if that is meant to tournament the assertion under it. could be: X + one million/2 X = 50 one million X + one million/2 X = 50 3/2 X = 50 (2/3) 3/2 X = 50 (2/3) to settle on for X X = 33

(x/2)*.57=((x+1)/2)*.50
times it by 2

2((x/2)*.57)=2(((x+1)/2)*.50)
simplify
(x)1.14=(x+1)1
simplify
1.14x=x+1
put both x's on the same side by minusing 1x
.14x=1
get x by itself, divide both sides by .14
x=1/.14
x=-7.142857143
x=7+1/7

three answers depending on how you want it displayed

x/2 = [(x+1)*25]/.57
x = (x+1).285
.715x = .285
x =.398

multiply by 2
0.57x=50(x+1)
0.57x=50x+50
adding -0,57x
0=49.43x+50
adding -49.43x
-49.43x=50
dividing by -49.43
x=-50/49.43
