This is cheap and it works. Get a old fashion fly tape, the one that hangs from the ceiling and hang it in the center of the room.It looks sort of cheesy but it will do the trick. Remember the center of the room.

If you're open to using some rather harsh chemical and are able to leave the house (take your pets with you), you could set off a 'bomb' - it's really just a spray can that dispenses a LOT of pesticide. You need to cover up EVERYTHING you may want to eat off!
That will kill all the flies and bugs for THAT TIME.
Others may, however, keep coming into the house. Get some fly catchers. These work by attracting flies with fly pheromones and then killing them on a sticky pad.
Beware of anything that may ATTRACT flies into your home: unwashed dishes, rotting garbage - all the stuff flies love and we hate.

Take a small glass & fill it 1/2" with Apple Cider Vinegar and 2 drops of dishwashing liquid, mix well. Flies will be drawn to the cup and be gone forever.
