How about a dog walking business, babysitting or housecleaning? Or a delivery person for small businesses in the area. There are whole books on this kind of stuff at the library. It depends what your resources are, how hard you want to work at it and what your strong suits are.
But be forewarned that owning your own business is a lot of work with no guaranteed paycheck, no health care, and no retirement plan. If it where a piece of cake 75% of small businesses wouldn't fail the first year.

Your age isn't as much a question as your skills and interests or the market for the products or services you wish to involve yourself in. Listen carefully when consumers around you talk about their experiences, good and bad, with things they buy or would like to buy. Just from the questions that are asked here on Yahoo Answers, there is a market for work-from-home opportunities so that's something to consider. If you can somehow develop a book list of work at home businesses and find decent pricing for those books (and videos and audio seminars) relating to success in business, you've got a hungry market. As your business develops so will your experience and capital to invest in other add-on products and services. After you start up your own Ecommerce website, you will be qualified to help others start their own. Your local library can help you with the list of books that you can search to buy for resale and then Ebay or Yahoo Small Business can help you with the website/store. Your first step should be a business plan and then your second step is getting the legitimate business licenses and Tax IDs to help you turn your expenses into deductions.

My best advice is don't. Over 80 percent of new small business start ups fail. If you really want to start one my advice is get a job. When you find something you like to do establish yourself as a hard worker and a person that does quality work. Once you have a name and a reputation you can use that as leverage to get your own business cause you already have the contacts and customers lined up. I would not listen to anyone that uses the words easy and small business in the same paragraph.

That's great that you want to start a business. I personally started my own business on my own, no joining web site things or doing Multi-level stuff or anything. I personally recommend doing an eBay business. It isn't that hard at all, just have to learn easy ways to keep the paperwork together, fast ways to list a bunch of things, etc. In a few hours a week, I make about half of what I make at my full time job. The key is to sell stuff on eBay that you like, whether you buy it in bulk and sell it, or whether you make it yourself. Find a niche and go for it.

Your local Chamber of Commerce is a great place to start. They have SBA information and resources on how to start a business they may even be privy to a plan the city has in place as well as business they would like to see develop in their community.
When considering a business be sure to choose something you are interested in like Clothes, jewelry, whatever - if you are successful you don't want to hate what you are doing. Good Luck!
